Dr. Ocana was born in Cuba where earned one of the most prestigious academic distinctions bestowed by his medical school. Upon graduating as a medical doctor in 1992 he moved to the U.S., completing his residency and training at the University of South Florida in 2005. He is a board-certified physician in Family Medicine as well as a member of the American Medical Association.

In 2008, Dr. Ocana founded Ocana Medical Center, which has since been honored by Humana as a “5-Star Provider.” Today, it is a practice where patients feel a genuine connection with their doctor … where every conceivable measure is taken to reach optimal outcomes … all of it provided in a beautiful, modern facility that embodies an ongoing commitment to excellence.

Dr. Ocana has been a practicing physician for over 20 years. Bilingual, he is equally adept at serving both English and Spanish speaking patients.

When asked about his caring, steadfast approach, he prefers to speak of those he serves. “I just want the very best for my patients. That’s all I’ve ever wanted.”



Outside of his practice, Dr. Ocana is a proud father of two daughters, whom he has raised alongside his wife, Gipsy Ocana. When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Ocana enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his other passion – classic cars, an interest passed down from his father while growing up in Cuba.
